Founded in 2009,
Brace Land Nursery is the family side businesss of Pastor Paul Brace. Each year, we grow our own shrubs, trees and perennials, right hear on site. Roughly 60% of the plants are born right here! We specialize in the classic shrubs grandma used to grow. And each year we introduce dozens of perennial (come back each year) flowers you'll never find in the average nursery. Being growers, we can offer our plants without the middle-man mark-up. We also scour the country for great deals on items we are not equipped to grow, and pass the savings on to you. You won't find any fancy (expensive) greenhouse here. Seedlings are kept warm by the basement coal stove. Everything else grows out in the field. Yup, plants grown here. Strong plants, forced to endure and thrive in our cold NEPA winters. Plants that keep coming back for the crazy droughts/monsoons of summer. Ever wonder how the big box stores have green, blooming plants while your yard is still winter brown? Its because those plants are shipped up from the south! Ours are grown here.
Visitors will quickly discover our unique work force. Dad and Mom do a lot of the work. But we have a crew of independent contractors. 8 children, ages 20 to 4, eager to grow, eager to help you find the right plant for your needs. Yes, they are independent contractors. Out there in the midst of thousands of plants, hundreds of varieties, are plants they've personally grown, and are happy to sell to you. We know who's who, but we won't tell. They have to produce plants able to compete with mommy and daddy... and they usually outsell us!
